Privacy note

What this site and the game's feedback form collect, why, and how to get it removed. In short: your email if you sign up for news, what you write to us, and nothing else.

Effective date: [date]

Who we are

This site is run by [the owner's legal name or studio, and country], the developers of the game shown here. You can reach us through the contact form.

What we collect, and why

  • Email signup: your email address, and which page you signed up on. We use it only to send you news about the game, such as the Steam page opening.
  • Contact form: your name, your email address, the topic you pick and your message. We use them only to read and answer your message.
  • Feedback in the game ("Tell us what you think?"): your message, and your email address only if you add one. The game also sends its version, your operating system's name and version, and the map and mode you were playing, so we can tell which build a report is about. No account, player name or machine ID is sent.
  • With every form: a one-way, salted hash of your internet address, used only to stop one sender flooding the forms. We don't store the address itself.

We don't sell or share your details for anyone else's marketing. We don't use them for advertising or profiling.

Our reason for using them (the legal basis, where that applies): your consent for the newsletter, and our legitimate interest in answering messages you send us. [counsel to confirm for the owner's country]

Who handles it for us

  • Cloudflare hosts this site and runs its forms; what you send is stored in our Cloudflare database. Like any web host, Cloudflare also processes connection data (such as internet addresses) to run and protect the service. See Cloudflare's privacy policy.
  • itch.io hosts the demo download, if you get it there; their privacy policy covers what they collect.
  • Email news will be sent with [the email tool, once chosen]. If we move signups there, every email will carry an unsubscribe link.
  • Steam: once the store page exists, the wishlist page shows Steam's widget, which loads from Valve's servers and is covered by Valve's privacy policy.

These providers may process data outside your country. [counsel to add transfer safeguards if needed]

Cookies and tracking

This site sets no cookies of its own and runs no analytics or advertising trackers.

How long we keep it

  • Signup emails: until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete them.
  • Contact messages and feedback: as long as we need to deal with them, and no longer than [12 months].

Unsubscribing, and your other rights

  • Unsubscribe: use the link in any news email, or ask us through the contact form.
  • See, correct or delete your details: ask through the contact form, using the same email address, and we'll do it within [30 days].
  • Depending on where you live, you may also have the right to object, to restrict use, to take your data elsewhere, and to complain to your data-protection authority.

Children

The signup and contact form are not meant for children under [13 or 16, depending on the country]. If you think a child has sent us their details, tell us and we'll delete them.

Changes

If this note changes, we'll update it here and change the effective date above.
